Watt Studios celebrated its First Anniversary in style on Monday with a special Open Day inviting visitors to sample all that is has to offer. From Pilates classes to Metafit, Skiptrix, Bulgarian Bag Works, Hoops, Combat Aerobics, Mixed Martial Arts, Tap & Ballet, Dru Yoga, and Pre-school gymnastics, there was something for everybody aged one and up. For those looking for something a little more sedate there were free Osteopathy, Massage and Reflexology tasters, and nutritional advice and samplers.
And many flocked to see what was on offer, with children from as young as two enjoying the fun.
Watt Studios was created and developed by Denise Watt-Pringle who having taught her classes in various locations around Brighouse decided it was time to bring the classes and the clientele together in one central point. On 2nd January 2016, Watt Studios open its doors to the public for the very first time, and since has gone from strength to strength.
There are now 12 instructors offering over 50 classes on a weekly basis, which as well as the above includes Resist and Stretch, Self Defence, Sling Swing and Zumba.
Denise is also continually fundraising for Heartbeat of Sport, a West Yorkshire charity who raise awareness of the issues of sudden cardiac arrest in sport, and raise funds for cardiac screening programmes and after care. During the first half of 2016, nearly £1000 was raised to purchase a defibrillator which is now accessible to all the local businesses, through raffles and voluntarily run self defence classes. Denise continues to organise her monthly raffles, the prizes for which are donated by clients, and from which all monies raised are donated to Heartbeat of Sport.
